Course overview

Mamamaria is a movement to explore the untold stories of parenthood – the challenges, the losses, and the unconventional paths that lie beyond the celebrated moments of baby bumps and birth announcements. I recognize that the journey towards and through parenthood can be fraught with difficulty, from fertility struggles and the complexities of single or special needs parenting, to the deep-seated impacts of intergenerational trauma and the heartbreak of loss. Mamamaria’s Elephant in the Womb events are intimate gatherings held every 2-3 months in Amsterdam, designed to break the silence on these issues. By sharing our stories, we aim to foster understanding, solidarity, and healing among those navigating these oft-hidden aspects of parenting. Join me in creating a supportive community that honors every parent's experience, acknowledging the pain, the joy, and everything in between.
